Here is an example of the way she used to teach children that the theory of evolution is not science:

Here is a homework assignment I used to give. And I strongly recommend you take twenty minutes to do it yourself.

Get a National Geographic article that is dealing with evolution. Any kind - dinosaurs, humans, whatever. Now, take three colored highlighters. Highlight all facts verified in the article in blue. Highlight all presumptions and presuppositions which are assumed true but not verified by the article, directly in yellow. Take your third color and color all of the author's opinions.

See how little blue there is?

Note: She is deliberately confusing children about the validity of a legitimate historical science. Notice how her "evidence" against evolution is coming from popular magazine articles and not proper science text books that do back up their presumptions with evidence. And apparently this is what's allowed to go on in some of our schools!

Creationists attack evolution and try to convince people that it's false. They do this by distorting the evidence, misquoting legitimate scientists and flat out lying. The one thing that they don't do, is back up their belief in creation with solid evidence, because they don't have any. Their "evidence" comes from the scriptures in the Bible.

Do you think she would mind if I went to her Church with the same three pens and had the children do the same "assignment" with the Bible?

I do not dispute the ID movement because I am an atheist that needs to qualify my beliefs (I believe in God). I am against ID because it attempts to blur the line between what is science and what is opinion. Isaac Newton gave us the scientific method and it has literally made all of the difference in the world. I believe it is dangerous for the future of this country's ability to compete globally, if our children do not understand what scientific thought really is. It is the difference between opening minds and closing them. I am FOR preserving scientific thought, not discrediting Christianity.
